The Chief Judge will assign a settlement official who is someone other than the Judge assigned to hear the case, unless otherwise mutually well-set to by the parties, and it may be someone within the Collaboration andVolitionalDispute Resolution Office (CADRO). The settlement official will schedule a settlement priming with the parties, usually surpassing the filing of prehearing disclosures. During the conference, the settlement official helps the parties to explore ways to reach a negotiated resolution to the case. For this reason, the settlement official normally requires that the representative for each party be present during the settlement priming and that persons with full settlement validity be present or misogynist by telephone.
